TeardropsA Poem by Katho28The teardrops came... and I remembered... and I wanted to forget. I didn't want pain anymore.
One by one, the teardrops came,
Big, Plump Drops of water. Like ripe mangoes falling from the orchard tree. Because nothing would ever be the same. He'd stolen my silver key. One by one, the teardrops slid, Cold, Wet Drops of water. Like that stormy orange day he ran from me. And to think he was different, who did I kid? He'd blinded what I could see. One by one, the teardrops fell, Angry, Harsh Drops of water. Like that moment happiness and pain crossed paths. My stomach was as hollow as a well. He'd cut my heart into halves. One by one, the teardrops touched, Soft, Gentle Drops of water. Like when I realised none of this mattered. Onto my heart, I tightly clutched. I'm not going to be battered. One by one, the teardrops stopped, Then, Silence, No more drops of water. Like the warmth of mangoes as they rested there... Across the green and orange, I hopped. Without a single care.
