Nightmares

Nightmares

A Poem by Kat Mandu

In the dark of night remember,
How you killed you're heart's defender,
Forever always, you surrender,
To the nightmares I have banned.

Silent are the hopeful few,
You know they're helpless, just like you.
Forever always praying to,
The God who haunts a soulless land.

Hear your heartbeat always racing,
Hear your feet forever pacing,
Forever always, we are chasing,
Maybe now you'll understand.

Still the flame that's always burning,
Slow the wheel that's always turning,
Forever always disconcerting;
Lying broken in my hand.

See the eyes forever haunting,
Betray the fear of constant taunting,
Forever always death is daunting,
Skimming over silver sand.

Scream out loud and try alerting,
The ghost who holds the knife that's hurting,
Forever always pain is flirting,
With the demons of the damned.

Stare at the floor, try to forget,
The death you caused, the pain you let,
Happen to all those you met,
The night I took those dreams you had,
And the nightmares I had banned.

The rhyme scheme was inspired from the rhyme scheme in the poem 'The Raven'; not that you were wondering. Peace and love to all ^_^ x
