Appearance of Unseen

A Story by Kathlina
"

This is basically just a short story that came to my mind. Not really that good. A girl muse's over the fact her traveling companions aren't alike, and she has a secret that she feels set her apart some how.

"

Cupping water into her hands, Esmrie splashed the cooling liquid across her heated face. She sighed contently and looked over at Aquarius, whom was still swinging his sword around in a skilled, but seemingly careless mannor. His dark eyes dancing with amusement at the awed looks he got from the young ones. Esmrie walked over to the three, small delicate bare feet dancing from stone to stone as she finally reached them.

"Miss Esmrie," Fliseha, the youngest of the children said, her crooked smile making the seventeen year-old smile as well. "Are we going to cross the river today?"

"No, you idiot," Daresin said rolling his eyes. "Its still much to deep and fast for us to make it through!"

"Daresin, no need to be rude to your sister," Aquarius inturpted them, before the two children could start fighting. "We're still fallowing it down child."

Esmrie smiled lightly her fearie like features lighting up. She'd set off on her own little pilgrimage over three months ago, and now shared the strangest of company, she noted to herself. A grumpy, and strict ex-demon hunter, two wild children, and herself, a elf whom had no real place to call home. Each had their own reason for their journey, but some all they all traveled together.

Aquarius traveled in order to find inlightenment before he became a knight. A most noble change, Esmrie thought. He'd spent years hunting down and killing demons, battles of pointless murder for money. He'd admitted to the sickening guilt it plagued him with, explaining his desire for a postion that would better suit helping people. Though he seemed crossed most of the time, the twenty-three year old man was kind and very knowledgeable for his young age.

The children, Fliseha and Daresin, were looking for their mother. Who'd been stolen away by a demon as to protect the village they came from. Fliseha was curious and sweet, while her brother thought himself already a man and had no desire to be told what to do. Both children were loving, and in time, they'd found themselves unable to part from the elder two.

Esmrie, how ever, had less than noble reasoning for her travels. Sighing she shook her head. She'd yet to tell them of her reasons. She was looking for her lost lover, a man who went by the name of Streak. Sweeping the long strands of silver-blonde hair behind her, Esmrie shook her head frowning at the thought of him. She'd promised to bring Streak back to the village, no matter what.

Streak had killed her whole village. No one stood except for her and its ruins and for this she had promised to bring him back, whether it meant killing him or not.

Smiling Esmrie giggled and stood up, popping her hip to the side and smiling happily.

"Welp! Lets get this going!" She declared.

Aquarius nodded, sheparding the children towards the trail. Esmrie smiled lightly. They were a strange group. A noble man, two naive children, and one sweet looking girl who was actually the darkest of the four. She knew her personality didn't match her intents, but for now, she'd just let them go on believeing Esmrie Sleania, was a kind girl who'd never harm any one.

Great contrast between how Esmrie is portrayed and how she genuinely is. I didn't think it sucked, and I wouldn't mind hearing more of this. I'd like to know what sort of adventures this group might get themselves into. Great job with this!

About
I'm a bit strange at times and I have weird tastes. I am currently single, fun loving, a bit hard headed, and I refuse to be wrong and will fight until I am proved right/wrong. I'm fair though, I'm no.. more..
