Dream Forever

Can't we sleep forever?

Forget the nightmares of today

Close your eyes to what you can't bring yourself to face

Give in to the heavy pull

 

Sorrow is like a black net tightening all around

Drift deeper...

Fear is like an unfriendly, blue chill gripping your heart

Pull away..

 

Can't we dream forever?

In this state of unmovable relaxation

A false hope that everything will be better

Too overwhelming to open your eyes to the truth

 

Realization is like a red blur and painful burn

Hide in your dreams... it's safer there.. like a child hiding under the covers

Guilt is a gray and dismal tangle like what you feel inside

Can anyone make the bad dreams go away?

 

Can't we sleep forever?

Block out the ache waiting on the waking side

Waft in this dream world

Hope is bright like a firefly, likewise hard to catch

 

So what's wrong if we dream forever?

Instead of staring blank eyed and spacing out as life passes

Can anyone shake you out of this spaced out state?

When will it be alright to wake up? When will things be better?

 

What's wrong if we want to dream forever.....
