A graveA Poem by Silver_water_dragonAbout the loss of someone I loved. I wrote in 2012 about a month after it happenedA pretty arrangement blossoms around All colors that you admired Your name on a grave I was never ready to see - Underneath the cold dirt lies nothing Nothing could keep your fiesty spirit down Your spirit, life, energy... Is part of the wind, earth, sunshine - Won't get to hold your hand Hands that did such labor Won't get to share your laughter Humor that everyone loved Won't get to hug you A warmth only from a mother - In memory, people visit a stone with flowers A ritual/tradition of old Perhaps comforting for some I find other ways of healing - Always told me to smile and be happy I try- part of the process When I smile- it is for you To honor you even now In death... I still seek to make you proud - You told me I'd be okay Won't get to share your laughter You told me not to stop laughing Won't get to hug you You told me you would always love me -- In memory- I will smile I will laugh I will love I will succeed -- At your grave, I was never ready to stand You said I was grown and longer needed you That is one thing you may have been wrong about In everything you found the good One day, I hope to be liike you -- I was never good at showing my feelings How much I love you- now is known I know how much one can love and be loved As long as you're in my heart You'll always be close to me This is not the end... © 2014 Silver_water_dragonAuthor's Note
