In Dreams I Wait

In Dreams I Wait

A Poem by Silver_water_dragon

Decent sleep visits rarely

Playing and replaying memories

Holding to past conversations

Nostalgia feels welcome to stay a while

--

Dreams enter and leave

Longing to stay-

In dreamland everything is alive

Here is where anything can happen

--

Want to stay where you live now

In dreamland, sadness slides off

Here we can talk

A place of our own

--

The magic falls away when eyes awaken

Prickle of sadness reminds of truth

A shadow of tribulation returns

Only a dream- but a warmness stays

--

Dreams fall away like a mist

Nostagia swings by

Company unwanted

No harm came from the visit

--

All is well with you, I know

However, a piece of me is missing

Like only one lung... hard to manage

Yet possible to keep going

--

Adjusting is a long process

I continue on because it was a last spoken wish

Breaking it wouoold cause dishonor

Much strength within because it was passed down

--

Dreams come and go

But memories are held dear

Longings come and go

Miss you forever and always

So in my dreams I wait

Has a personal reflection of sort...
in the lines of this verse...
just as I read the lines...
and the last stanza verifies...
that there is a void...
and a place to go in dreams...
so you may relive the memories...
over and over again...
