The Tower in the Frame

The Tower in the Frame

A Poem by Kate Ruta

The silver Frame that holds the Tower.

Memory of the greatest time, as I looked inside.

The only place to see this Tower beside inside the Frame

Is in a place like no other.

To look inside the Frame the beautiful memories,

Smiles and laughter while standing on top.

To love all the good and the bad times.

To touch this silver Frame is like touching the past.

The Tower in the Frame is the most beautiful,

Detailed, pencil marks that creates the image.

Wanting to go back, to that beautiful Tower,

but all I have left is that sketch in the Frame.

This is a good poem. I'm not sure why but it feels like it's missing something to me. I think it might be the structure of it. I would consider breaking it up a bit just to let the poem breath and let the reader slow down the reading and appreciate the poem. Over all good work.
