I Am

I Am

A Poem by Kate Henderson

I'm a star that's just a black hole
I'm the monster that lives under your bed
I'm a terrifying danger
I'm a child in the manger
I'm the one locked in your head
I'm the bullet in a loaded gun
I'm the acid in your tears
I'm the one that hides your fears
I'm the whisper in your ear
I pull the strings like a puppeteer
I'm the water that will make you drown
I'm the frog with the poison tongue
I'm the one that will beat you down
I'm the blood flowing through your veins
I'm the skeleton of your archeological remains
I'm the reflection in the mirror
I'm
I am

Now, I am afraid and confused. Who you are exactly? Oh that's the answer in those last two lines....
