Souls Of The Dying LandsA Poem by Kate Henderson
Passionless souls
Invoke a disarming mind Suffocation needs no warning As a brutal force Takes hold Lack of empathy Turns apathetic Apologetic Cities lined with dust Apocalypse of the Ancient world Seeks new retribution As undecided calm Can create from the Army of the dead A desolate wasteland Screams for humanity Lost in a flame Of solitude And degradation Migrating past Where evil birds fly To a distant land To occupy The world at large Messy and incoherent As the silence deafens All who wander aimlessly A catapult of ideas Is thrown off the tower I stand before a Monument Ravaged by scars Trepidation of destruction Carries a floating paper boat Off which I step into The absolute Saviour come down Upon the earth Let it rid us of cruelty Rainbow swift And coloured bright Tangible existence Can be made real But not in this life © 2017 Kate HendersonFeatured Review
