Iridescent Eyes

Iridescent Eyes

A Poem by Kate Henderson

I was climbing up a tree,
And I saw in front of me,
A butterfly wing
That made the birds sing

I reached out to touch it,
But couldn't quite reach it,
So I jumped out to grab it,
And in my hand I crushed it

I fell to the ground,
With a resounding thudding sound,
And when I landed in the mote,
The wing was shoved down my throat

I swallowed hard and it slid right down
Because of the taste I began to frown
Then I started to float in the sky
And I saw in my reflection
I had an Iridescent Eye

Hey! thank you very much for your kind review, really pleased you enjoyed :)
funny as more than I have read for some time
was gonna say something else yet
might not have suited this place and time
I found the part about catching the butterfly
fascinating ;}
remember catching an emerald green dragonfly
glistening motionlessly
in the sunlight
being lucky(an' quick enough)
to catch it
Glad I didn't eat i though
when i let it go it flew away untarnished.
Beautiful!

very... sing songy. I enjoy it, as others have said before. It is very cute. It sort of makes me feel empowered. I do not know if that's what you were aiming to do, but that is how I felt. Cheers! 98/100

You are a superstar!
I enjoyed the imagery of your words. They are whimsical and although fun to read I found myself looking for the metaphors within. Well done! Thank you, keep writing. LL

anytime :)
--- Emotions --- feelings of majesty --- misery & a pond of art --- that's all I find in the write. This poem's well written in Words --- all verses're marvelously expressed with your fluffy heart --- reflecting the moisten sensations of faith. It's an excellent job!!
