Sunrise

Sunrise

A Poem by Kate Henderson

Red giant
Towering apocalypse
Burning white
Blistering scarred earth
A beaten world
Defeated by the enemy
Of life
Alien land
Forgotten, alone, at peace
No wars can break
Strength in the darkness
Of the unborn star
Growing Sun
For the last stand
Takes the hand
Pushes out
From the womb of space
The human race
Has been destroyed
By the giant ray
Crushing brutality
As earth is eaten up
A tasty snack for
The monster
Once gave earth life
Can take it
Back in a flash
Moving on
Hears the Planets calling
Earth can not reply
Now is your time to die

Sunrise as the earth sets.... I'm reminded of someone's response to a discussion about pollution on earth and how that will destroy the planet....his reply - the earth will be fine its us humans that have to worry. Anyway, thanks for allowing the sun to bring its darkness. ( : O )

This beautifully write reminds me my one of the great poem called "NO NEW--SUNRISE".. (I had written this last month) ... I like how you capture the dark moments with the precious words of art ---- expressing the great mystery of this wicked world. ---- via your extraordinary words. Great job! I'm going to look forward to reading your stuffs!!
