Frozen Pool

Frozen Pool

A Poem by Kate Henderson

Dreams cascade down the
Flowing pool of water
Diamond rocks
Glisten underneath
Mist from the dew
Rises up to engulf it
Falling, falling into a bottomless pit
A sanctuary for the dead
Bones rotting
Alone, forgotten
Inside a cave
Her dreams are ice
Frozen in time
Mirage of colour
Blue, opal and green
Cosmic wonders
Of a nocturnal dream
Crystal scars
Locked beneath the skin
Smashed, broken
The tiny pieces shattered so thin

I am delighted by the imagery in this poem and your choice of words is wonderful.
I must apologize for being obtuse, there is something deeper about this poem that escapes my clumsy grasp.

That's fine no need to apologize, I'm glad you enjoyed my work.
