Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Kat_apult
"

Entry piece for "The Lady in White" contest

"

The moment frozen

As she waited for her date

The scene caught forever

Anxiously waiting

for her date to pick her up

Mom took her picture

Of her sitting there

Worrying about being late

And about her looks

She stared pensively

at the camera Mom had

Then the flash went off

And she was stuck there

In that photograph gazing

Unsmilingly out

i like this poem, it makes you think. when i read this an image pops in my head. i see like this girl waiting to go to prom or a big dance and she has this date that stood her up. and it makes you feel sad, because there is always that thoght in your head if they are late that you are getting stood up. thats what popped into my head. ha, watch me be wrong and what you thought of was so diffrent. keep up the writing, can't wait to read more.

what a sad, talented depiction of lost and searching. no doubt this is picturesque and heartfelt, kat.
the artistic structure surely captures the essense of the lonely meaning- this poem is the definition of haiku
