Liberated Libya

Liberated Libya

A Poem by Kat Collins
"

The Fall of Gaddafi brings hope to war-torn, ravaged country. Let us only hope that peace and prosperity can begin their healing.

"

Ding-dong, a man is dead!

Gaddafi was his name-o.

Rebels dance their jivey jig,

On rugs of his bloated face.

Grind the filth,

Into his smugness,

Let’s shout, hooray!

War is war,

people will argue,

No one should die,

Ponder peace instead.

Forgetting olive branches,

Sometimes have to occur,

At the price of a life.

Freedom’s bell tolls,

With streaks of blood tears,

Falling on war-torn cheeks.

Young, old, and in-between,

Sink on their knees

In prayer.

Liberation has finally dawned.

Just remember that the "rebels" who overthrew Gaddafi had a central bank (privately owened of course and backed by the $) and a national oil company before they even had a constitution.... some freedom! No doubt though... Gaddafi was a monster who tortured and killed his own people.

Hopefully a sign of things to come. If all the bad rulers around the world would get thrown out by the people, (Okay, he was a little more than thrown out) mankind would be so much better off.

Can't say England will miss him but then again whom are we to say the country will be better off without him as Saddams people may argue better the devil you know especially as the fighting will rage on as others try to claim his power. Love the sentiment though of the poem and only time will tell if we were right. Keep em' coming

I agree with the sentiment. The only reason he wasn't assassinate... sorry...'had a bit of an accident'' before was the oil and banking interests. I rarely feel anyone should die, but the politics of ego he had around him was too destructive. The poem does reflect this insanity by reducing things to a nursery rhyme. Great work and great comment. Now onto the corporations and conglomorates...

Its strange how such a goof-ball could have caused so much pain to so many people. I think the 'ding-dong' reference fits quite well here and can almost imagine his pointed shoes sticking out from under a house. He was anything but harmless - hopefully the nation can heal.

That was quite fun and whimsical... this is certainly a big day in history and hopefully a step towards better for Libya.

I do not follow politics or really religion for that matter but freedom should be a universal thing. This was well penned and something many can come to appreciate.
