It works. Belive me it works. I am transfixed by it. As I'm writing I'm going back and rereading. I'm gettign something new every time. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but you have captured life and mortality better than most could. You also spark off ideas of lonliness and isoaltion. Wonderful work Kat. Simply that.
It was very. quiet.. (some things more sense in my mind but I can never put it into words that make sense to others! so I apologize if you don't understand) Basically.. It works. :) it is very beautiful.. well done
Very interesting. I like the parallel-ish lines at the beginning and end-- they give the feeling of going full circle. I think the "sound words" work nicely to create images and sounds in your head. This is a good length, too-- this style would get tedious if it were too long.
Silence can be a your worst enemy in moments of pain... your wording is so simple and yet packs quite a punch in describing moments of being alone and hurting.
As is often the case, the fewer the words, the deeper the meaning and the greater their impact. You allow the reader time to take in the words, feel them, almost touch them, then drift away on a journey with them. Magical writing.
Nicely penned Kate. Please read some of my poems. Most of them are sad as I can't really write in happy poems with everyone I have loss and loved in such a small period of time. Lucie

I'm a writer, freelance web designer, and voracious reader. I'm a collector of words, experiences, and emotions. I've been writing since I was "knee-high to a grasshopper" and feel lost without it. Wr.. more..
