Remembering YouA Poem by Kat CollinsMy dear friend, mentor, writer, encourager, and passionate creator passed away in January 2010 - the world lost someone special that day and a silent space in time will always be.Time passes all too quickly, As your smile achingly fades from my memory. I breathe into my creations and think of you, Longing to hear your whispered words, Encouragement, love, demanding and passionate. Never give up, always do what you love, You reminded me so many times. I took for granted that you would be with me always, My cheerleader at my back, pushing me forward. The phone call crushed my world My heart shattered from the loss of you. I broke knowing you were there no more. Your wife and children, fatherless - Your father and mother, childless - Your sister without her brother - Your friend without her backbone. The world tilted on its axis for a brief moment in time, Spilling the rivers flowing from our eyes, Watering the earth with our grief. Time has passed, but the void still lingers, I still turn to hear your voice, And realize it is only in my mind, A remembrance of you. © 2011 Kat CollinsAuthor's Note
