Ocean's Lure

Ocean's Lure

A Poem by Kat Collins
"

A tribute to the ocean...

"

Speak to me with your salted breath,

Smelling of fish and brine.

Crash into me with your waves of passion,

Swirling eddys and ripping tides.

Foaming at the mouth,

Lapping at the shores,

Icy cold and heated depths.

Bring me to my knees in worship,

Obliterating and consuming.

Whisper tendrils upon my heart,

Beckoning curls and aqua fathoms.

Shivering and sweating,

Waiting with bated breath,

Luring with your siren call.

Caress me with your wet lips,

Tasting of bitter sweetness.

Envelop me in your liquid warmth,

Seeping into my pores.

Breathing deep,

Sucking you in,

My essence is melting into you.

As a Brit and a nation of fishermen and sailors I feel we all feel an Ifinity to the sea and this heart outpouring of love for the majesty of her beauty speaks directly to the inner soul of man. Beautifully penned my friend, keep em' coming

Waiting with bated breath,
Luring with your siren call.
Caress me with your wet lips,
Tasting of bitter sweetness.

Almost sounds like a sensual poem to a man does it not?

Being an ex-sailor, I'm a sucker for anything salty. Many traits have been attributed to the briny blue, but you may have discovered some new ones. Makes me want to sit and watch the flying fish, it does.

Just an outstanding, descriptive, breathtaking write, Kat...
I loved the way you compared the ocean to love and freedom...because that's what the ocean does.... capture you, then sets you free....
Beautifully and passionately penned

So amazing, the ocean, and your words which describe it. It's funny how it seems to pull on man, no matter who it is. Once you have beheld the sea, you can't quite get it out of your head. Makes me think of Legolas in Lord of the Rings..... =) Anyways. I myself have only seen the ocean a few times in my life, but I would love to see it more. Thanks for this; it brings back good memories and gorgeous, cliff-shores under a setting sun...

Describing the lure and mystery of the sea and yet expressing a very deep, abiding passion. You've written a lovely poem.

It amazes me that we know so little about something that makes up almost 3/4 of our earth. At one time I was thinking about becoming a marine biologist because I am so fascinated with ocean life. You've really done well in capturing the mystique and awe-inspiring nature of the oceans. Nice work.
