The Scent of Your Soul LingersA Poem by Kat CollinsThe scent of your soul lingers, With whispers of your breath. Warming my innards deep, A sweet sublime of ecstasy. Writhing tendrils vining ‘round, Inhaling deeply of your essence. Intertwining memories of surrender, Life sustaining supplier to my heart. Drink the luscious nectar of peaches, Juices dripping down my chin. Slipping in your sweetness, A puddle it forms at my feet. The scent of your soul lingers, Upon my tingling lips. A delicious taste of honey, Thick, syrupy liquid of life. It sears upon my brain, Burning its brand of light. Swirling upon my tongue, Tenderly sucking every last drop. Moist as thick as humid heat, A shimmering haze of gossamer web. Basking in the muted dawn, The scent of your soul lingers. © 2011 Kat CollinsAuthor's Note
