Meeting Beneath The Stars

Meeting Beneath The Stars

A Poem by Kat Collins

meeting beneath the stars
clandestine amorous love
lost without the other
clinging in want and need
secret alleys and hidden rooms
sly glances with hands entertwining
gentle words pitter patter like rain
falling from supple lips
lost amid the sighing wind
dreams so far gone becoming reality
light steps into oblivion
a moment, a blip
here and gone
only remembrance remains
of an illicit love
awakening slumbering fires
confined to silence, deep and quiet
never uttered, but held close
a whisper breathed
only when the wind sighs
