I Walked Upon The Beach Last Night

I walked upon the beach last night

Dreaming of your far off light

Stepping in the inky darkness

Sand pushing between my toes

 I long for a dream

One that I’ve only imagined but never seen

Gazing at the luminous moon

It provides a simple solace

It caressed my lonely soul

So I can pretend its not broken but whole

But even the gentle light of the moon

Cannot compare to your wanted touch

I can only pretend and imagine your light

When I walk along the beach at night.
