Where Were You?

wondering

where were you when I hurt?

where were you when I had pain?

where were you when I was angry?

where were you when life was a black tunnel with no end?

I know where you were...

You were carrying me in your arms

holding me tight and secure

You were by my side

when barbs were hurled

You felt my pain when I cried alone at night.

You were always there

steadfast and sure

surrounding me with your love

I never knew

I never understood

I was lost and alone

but you found me

You brought me home

and now I know

You are forever.

2 sets of Footprints in the sand except when I was lost and down only one set and he asked ~ why Lord at these times did you leave me? and he replied ~ I never left, I was carrying you. This is what your poem reminded me of, those times when only his assurances give us strength to carry on. Beautifully penned, keep em' coming
