My Lullaby, My Rest

My Lullaby, My Rest

A Poem by Kat Collins

buttery velvet smooth

dripping silver dew

fairy twinkles

fluttering breaths caress my cheeks

i wander in the loamy light

squishing green fuzz

moss mottled brown tickles my toes

chasing the elusive wisps

sparkling tendrils of steamy laughs

floating memories

cascading moments

where do i go from here?

stepping lightly springy

going forth unknown

my eyes are peeled wide in wonder

lost in the otherworldly sights

have i found my heaven?

my lullaby?

my rest?

sunlight warmth seeping through

trembling anticipation

heavy limbs and drooping eyes

drifting into neverland

curled beneath a tree

dreaming of my home
