The meetingA Poem by Kastor homesA lifetime in the shadows, He battles for the sun, The smell of summer fills his lungs, His journey has begun. And through the shadows, toward the light, His feet move heel to toe, Slowly at first, then gather speed, To meet this temptress girl. Unknown waits, and every step, Leads him to her call, And slowly walk towords the ledge, Should he make it, should he fall. The sunlight now within his grasp, His skin awaits its kiss, Gone are the horrors and his fears, The heat leads him to bliss. In the distance, waits his prize, And dandilions fill her eyes, And perfect still she waves to him, Silhouetted by the sunrise. Hearts that race, The long to taste, And in the haze, They will embrace. And hold the girl of pure divine, And coress her gentel spine, And in her ear he gently wispers, “Now i’m here your mine” And feel her breath upone his ear, The longing, drifts and dissapears, Closer still he pulls her in, Her sholder where he’ll rest his chin. And now in sunlight like the flower, They dance in summers gentle breeze, And seconds slow and feel like hours, And fade away like autums leafs. He can not bear to let her wander, He can not bear to let her go, He can not bear the hours squandered, He can not bear to feel the snow. And in his heart he knows she feels it, The pull that brought them to this greeting, After all it is no secret, They both fought hard to have this meeting. And smile she does, when her gaze, Meets his eye across the pasture, And there the live their fairy tale, Their happly ever after.
