A Corpse BrideA Poem by RaeA poem about a man who fell in love with a corpse. Her skin was soft and the color of snow,
As her body laid in the black casket. He walked by and his pace began to slow, Looking inside her cold corpse basket. Her hair was a deep color of burnt brown, Reminded him of his dead wife who burned. It would be a waste to put her in the ground, Took her from her box, never to return. Seeing her gave his heart a flutter, His heart racing and thumping in his chest. Could not find the words, could only stutter, Decorated a room for a love nest. There he stayed with his beautiful corpse bride. And her family wept for her stolen hide. © 2012 RaeAuthor's Note
