A Day Moon in the Water Depths

A Day Moon in the Water Depths

A Poem by Rhys Jacobs
"

I looked in my pool at night.

"

Encircled by the moon

beneath the shallow depths,

a world composed of dead leaves

and dead bodies aglow.

Surrounding the evening self

runninh clear of the chords this day.

First one, then three more

than the perfect sevens stacked.

Elevate the mood with music.

A shallow coin strikes

the bird-like strings.

Ring true, the Other views reality

in the moon lite lake.

Waves lap on the stone

and transport me, the pain of being

intrudes, falls gently like the mist

upon the aged spine.

Return, compose the self.

Close your eyes, breath no more.

Live no more tonight.
