CarnifexA Poem by Rhys JacobsMy reflections on a woman I met at a dinner date.
Undercut to perfection, prime youth.
Holes poked at random to gauge the temperament, a violet shade of black, blue and blonde. Flushed with excitement as blood seeps onto the dinner plate, such a premium cut body! The meat out of mind suspended in private kitchens, disguised as entertainment bled onto my plate. I'm unsure of this under-done meal... Raw life, no hope I'd call for a cheque, but the chef is a friend and my date was his well-oiled dish. A prime undercut youth, holes poked at random to discern the direction in which I should cut. I suppose I'll close my eyes and eat this bloody meal. © 2013 Rhys Jacobs |
