Head-Butt

Head-Butt

A Poem by Karla Mata Soto

Gentle Head-Butts
burrowing fur
softly rubbing
on the door

against my shoulders
while at rest
on my cheek
my neck no less

gentle head-butts
and soft licks
the gifts you
give
the time that
spins

little chuckles
as I grin
your gentle head butts
touching my skin

like a family
this toddler asks
for some time
that forever lasts
