Strange CaseA Poem by Karissa A. KellyIf you know someone personally who goes from Jekyll to Hyde in a mere instant, sometimes for no reason at all, run as fast as you can.I see the ugliest side of one cherished in public life The strange case by day does hide the one who puts me through such strife. I am the favored receiver of the torment and actions-bold Done by the great deceiver whose misdeeds if told To every mindless believer their confidence they still would hold. I hear the spite am burned by the sparks of the axe to grind No god in the sky to smite this strange case of evil, defined. Therefore I am doomed to bear the gnarled jackal’s teeth Piercing, into my soul they tear exposing my flesh underneath. © 2020 Karissa A. Kelly |
