Word Wars

Word Wars

A Poem by Karen Redburn

This word:

hubris

believes it is valued above this word:

lowly

This word:

education

believes it is smarter than this word:

intelligence

This word:

peace

refuses to join the war.

Since you always leave such lovely reviews on my works I thought I would review yours in turn. This was a very well written poem. I really liked how you laid it out so that it grabbed the readers attention, the final lines I loved especially "This word:
peace
refuses to join the war." that was just so powerful and really striking. I would have to honestly say that this is one of the best poems I have read on this site, from how it was laid out to how seamlessly it flowed, and the topics it covered so elegantly. Really lovely!

Karen - wouldn't it be neat if all wars were only those of words?
We could drive ourselves silly and learn something in the process.
Oh well, its a thought.

Take care - Dave

hmmmm my theory it is simple not easy but simple to educate a new generation but how many people are going to show them how to unlearn what they learned
