PeaceA Poem by Karen JohnsonIt wrenches me when I hear them saying – I’m elusive. Before you read - It's a personified poem. PEACE is I in the poem. ................................. Dear Mankind, I would be grateful to thee, If you flee me and get me glee, Could you tell the war to run away? Could you tell them to stop making arms? Could you possibly get me again? I’m lost somewhere, Unfortunately, I don’t know where, A place where there’s a gusty smoke, A smoke of chaos, A smoke of bloodshed, This smoke chokes me, I request you to, rescue me. This place stinks and is wet. It’s got a stingy stench, Stench of ego, Stench of betrayal. It’s wet with red water, Supposedly, blood. I’m not liking it here, dear, Get me out please, Search for me, I know you can, I know you will, But wait, are you among the fake, again? I’m broken, Put my pieces together, I hope you’re good, I hope you’re true, Cause next time I go missing, It’ll be forever ....................................... Note: This work is solely mine. I don't want to be OFFENSIVE, just POSSESSIVE. © 2014 Karen JohnsonAuthor's Note
