Thorns

Thorns

A Poem by Karen John

A garden full of red roses
is what her innocent eyes saw
excited, she entered the garden
failing to notice the thorns
sharp as knives they caressed her
but she didn't bother the pain
for she was mesmerized and
hoped everything would be fine
she slowly reached the very core
enveloped by flowers and thorns
but soon the flowers withered away
and all that was left were the thorns

A deep purvey into the thicket of what could be beautiful red... But is instead dripping red... All that is left are thorns sharp as knives... Mesmerizing, a numb caress of innocence upon my eyes... But left sifting the needle-point blind...

Like this poem.
The rose does have a unique way of protecting itself.
In a way, it could be a walk through life.
