Captive

Captive

A Poem by Karasu Tengu

When in the course

of the everyday boredom

slithers

sidewinding across mindscapes

of fantasy ground into hourglass

sands

and the weight below

measures the emptiness

above

it is time to listen in the footnotes

of context scraping

channels of circumstance.

When the arsenic of repetition

tolls through the courses of

circulation I want you to stand

here

under the wings of raven

and part the seas in preparation

for the homeless hordes

that work for tainted food

As the walls of the dead sea

tower to your sides

and chariot wheels teeter on the

banks of firmament

throw back your head to father sky

a kiss to sister raven

bend your knee to mother earth

and release all

that you hold captive.
