The Imagination of a ChildA Poem by Luna NorthstarI was thinking about how I have watched so many grow up, and lose their imaginations along the way. Each time I see it happen, I only hold mine closer...
I was there when you were young
I walked by your side Laughed with you Played with you We loved to go outside Thats where our dragons lived And the pixies dwelled, Don't you remember? Each staircase was a water fall Each bed, our ships We traveled through space Went back in time Don't you remember? Or maybe you remember the trees we climbed And the knees we scraped? The giants we chased The pirates we battled? But now your somewhere else With boys, with makeup, talking the day away... Don't you remember our adventures? The magic and fun? Don't you remember our summers Playing in the sun? But you've forgotten. You have forgotten each adventure Each pinky swear, Each pixie and dragon... I watched you leave your imagination behind But seeing this, I only hold mine closer....
