UnfaithfulA Poem by Kara*edited*
Everything you said to me,
How could I have taken you so seriously? Your fingers were drenched with betrayal, as you ran them through my hair. You whispered your sweet, phony scripts with her scent lingering on your lips. You felt the scars as you ran your hand up my arm, You said you would heal me, -Keep me from harm When, in the end, all you could manage -was causing more damage. I've never witnessed a heart so black I want the time I wasted back. All the words you spoke were fruitless All the love I gave was useless I convinced myself there'd be no more tricks I wanted to believe the words "I love you" that escaped from your tainted lips Excalibur wedged between my ribs unwavering in my heart now cast of stone Why didn't you just desert? Your rejection would have been a mere splinter to the pain of being treated as dirt.
