America

A Poem by KarMarBar
"

A poem I wrote shortly after 9/11

"
We're tired, but we can't sleep.
We're sad, but we can't weep.
We're lonely, but it won't show.
We're sure of it, but we don't know.
We're confused, but we know it all.
We're standing strong, but we're about to fall.
We have wings, but we can't fly.
We want to live, but we want to die.
Our lives are beautiful, but they're a mess.
We're craving more, but we're getting less.
We are crying, but we are strong.
We are silenced, but we sing our song.
We feel hopeless, but God is on our side.
We may lose our people, but we'll never lose our pride!

This is very nicely written, but it echoes so empty these days as I look at at our once strong nation and see us becoming sheep, but not for the lord no. Sheep of men, leading us to slaughter, here in our own lands...but loudly it rings within me. Truly love it.
