I'm Alright

I'm Alright

A Poem by KarMarBar
"

This is a poem I wrote after a boy broke my heart as a young girl.

"
If I tried and succeeded,
I would know that I'm whole.
When I try and I fail,
there's a strain in my soul.

I fight just to give,
then give up in a fight.
Half-knowing and half-blinded,
I guess I'm alright.

Never quite good enough
for the few who've made me smile.
Always a waste of my time,
never worth my while.

To wake up in comfort
with a glow in my eye,
like the goodness of a drug
because the lust is soon to die.

My heart was wide open.
My body was naked.
He was beyond brilliant.
But like the rest, he faked it.

I tried and I failed.
Wipe the tears out of sight.
Half-knowing and half-blinded,
I guess I'm alright.

We are always doubting. Always trying. Wanting more. Giving more. Needing more. Its easy to give up at times, while others it'd be easier to die. I love this poem.
