Fill in the void

Fill in the void

A Poem by Gaurangi

Fill in the void,

Of the desolate place.

It has been waiting for long

Dreaming of you,

Dreaming of your sound,

Dreaming of how you cry.

Let it touch,

Let it feel how it feels to contain

All of it once again.

So, rain like the rain of the first drought.

Have you forgotten,

Rain on the forlorn, empty land?

It misses the petrichor.

Have you forgotten too,

The smell of your visit?

So, please rain,

Like the overflowing cistern,

It will awaken everything

Wherever you spill over.
