Susan next door

Susan next door

A Poem by KaplanKop

The tides come and the tides go,
All is fine, so we say,
But people, people exist in their silence,
Even if they always have noise on,
There's a silence, so, so silent,
The silence of a thousand corpses piled up,
The silence of death hurtling closer and closer,
As people, people go through the motions,
Pointless, pointless motions,
Nothing really matters,
Apart from Susan next door,
Because she promised me a favour

Life is subjective; there's no objective reality outside of our own mind. Most of us have our "Susan" on whom we pin our hopes. And what if Susan next door doesn't live up to her promise? It's almost too much to consider that option...:(

Ah Susan next door can make life worth living. Can turn a grey day sunny, funny the power women have got. That just rhymed but wasn't intentional. A slice of life and I enjoyed the read.

Good luck with that. I used to write like that, these days I am lucky if I can write one a week :)
