Worlds Apart

As you fall away from the person you love

It's strange how even when we're together

I feel like we're worlds apart

How the simplest things can make me smile

or they can break my heart

I remember the days

when we held each other near

It wasn't only your body

but your soul I could feel

The days when your eyes

looked right into me

But now they seem

to look right through me

When we kiss, it isn't tender

When we f**k, it doesn't feel love

When we touch, we don't feel

When we talk, it's not enough

I know it sounds harsh

But harsh words are usually true

And what hurts the most

Is that I know deep down I mean very little to you

While reading this it almost felt somewhat surreal. The last stanza created an almost parallel beauty between the 2nd and last line. When it all connected I was able to feel what you felt for a brief moment. I loved it! Thanks for sharing
