The struggle of being a insecure person in a relationship.

What if I changed myself for you?

Would you want me then?

What if I made myself look just the girls who catch your eye

Don't lie... I see how you look at them.

I see how you look at her face

Should I wear more make up?

Look at her body

Am I not fit enough?

I'll be whatever you want

Rearrange me until I'm pretty

I don't care if it hurts

I just want you to see me

Just mold me into what you want

and throw away what's ugly

Wipe me clean, create a new person

I'll become whatever you want me to be.

Because when you don't notice

I look at the mirror, wanting to hurl

Wanting to change everything about me

Maybe then you'd want me and stop looking at the other girls.

Don't you understand

When you look at those girls all you see is beauty

But when I look at them...

I see is everything that's not me.

Author's Note

Feeling insecure as hell I guess. Low self esteem causes a lot of problems in a relationship. I suppose I get really upset when I see my boyfriend looking at other girls, even if they're only on a TV or in a movie... Then he lies about it...
He sees how beautiful these girls are, how "hot" he thinks they are. I look at them and I see everything that I'm not. Everything that I wish I was.
I hate myself sometimes and can't bare to look into a mirror.

I have been telling people for 40years. Can't change someone. You got what you know and forced change will leave you alone wishing for the person they were. A powerful poem. Made me think tonight.

don't know really know how to comment i'll make my best attempt
sorrows lament make a poem of love
who cares except we make comments about our feelings
that matters more so that the blood we shed the tears spent
all we want is to fly like birds to be one
one with the earth stars sun heaven sent
no regrets thats what i know of


I find music helps me alot, helps with alot of problems
and i want to say writing about your feelings is a gift your gift keep hold of that
much love and want to say what you wrote is from the heart it is the most important because it's real

Music is extremely helpful for me as well. Sometimes playing chiller music can help distract my mind, other times I need music that reflects what I feel. So I can find the words.
I have always written about what I feel. Often times I'm too afraid to speak whats on my mind, or can't put it into verbal words. When I write I can get it out so much better.

While that may be true, when you are insecure and in a relationship: You always think "maybe they wanna be with someone else." And if they say things out of anger, like "I don't really want to be with you" or "I'm not attracted to you." It can just kill a person's self esteem even more.
