The Lady of the Forest

The Lady of the Forest

A Poem by Petunia
"

A glimpse into the heart of the Forest...

"
Imagine it...

You walk into a nearby wood,
And stop.
The path you followed
Is gone.
Now what do you do?

Imagine it...

You are
Lost.
You see a woman come through the trees.
Don't look at her.
She may be you salvation or damnation,
But don't look.

Imagine it...

You sense her immaculate beauty.
You sense her love,
But it's not directed toward you.
Don't speak.

You sense her immeasurable radiance
And her hatred.
It is your fault.
Don't move.

She walks toward you and begins to sing.
A melody to rival the most beautiful works of art.
You can see the words of her song.
Don't breathe.

As she sings, you become surrounded.
It is the two of you and the woods.
She touches you.
Don't panic.

Her touch sends heat through your body.
You begin to tremble.
And then you fall.

And fall.

And fall.

She does not catch you.
No one else is around.
The ground opens up and swallows you whole
Open your eyes.

Upon opening, you see
The woman.
Her eyes are level with yours.
A breathtaking shade of

Imagine it.

You are but a shade of what you once
Were.
Seduced by the Woman of the Wood,
You are now
Hers.
