Trying

"because we cannot be forever sad"

I try to listen
that voice of reasoning
but it gets so dim.

And everyone screams
around me with
their words grounding me

A perfect way to lose
every piece of sense
in life.

My pure feelings ended
I've only destructive
letters to form words.

Since my birth
1000 years ago it seems
sadness was unleashed.

Now, we're hiding
the heart
the soul of blackness in us.

But no more.
We will deceive
our selves and live.

This is a beautiful poem as a whole, but the first stanza stands out to me the most. Perhaps because it feels so familiar. Great work, I'm really enjoying reading your stuff.
