People Dancing

My heart jumps
When I see people dancing

I want to throw off my sorrowful shoes
And join the dance of glee
Till my soul forgets its woes
And all the world's joy comes to me

It makes my feet twitch
And my nerves vibrate for a moment
My spirit becomes a wild winged witch
While my bones remain spent.

When I see people dancing

I lose myself in its glow
But I still feel stuck to the ground
And I remember why now :
I am wheel-chair bound.
