To Die Not

To Die Not

A Poem by Master K-tops

I want to die not as a martyr
Buried in vain saintly adornment
Or as a rich man covered in gold,
I want to die not as an economic dog
Working late hours and barely feeding
Or as a disgraced soul wandering in Hell.

I want to die not on the edge of perfection
Struggling to imitate a fellow mortal
Or adjusting to your perception of "cool"
I want to die not trendy and worldly
Recharging my jump power for the bandwagon
Or chasing after another's dreams.

No!

I want to die a hero - my hero
I want to die perfect, through my own lens of perfection
I want to die great, from my own perspective of greatness
I want to die principled, on the basis of my philosophy
I want to live like my life is truly mine
I want to die, knowing I was the best man I could ever be.

That sort of death, I want to die over and over again.
