Alas! Burning Lillies!A Poem by Master K-topsTransition from teen to adulthood could be terrifying.
My purple blood is aflame
but my veins are not to blame I flood nations with a tear drop as the wind empties my cup I paint with alien colours but isn't that all poets' curse? A child,I was blind to life, today,I am to taste the strife Entangled in blissful innocence which is now lost in essence Nostalgic fevers catch me for I shall not pay Judas' fee. The erring of Adam and Eve haunts the souls that still grieve Why must I gain my sight if all I'm to see is the dark of night? If only to die, I want not to grow except to stay in childhood's glow. "The loss of innocence is life's greatest tragedy". © 2014 Master K-topsReviews
