![]() Music Of Famished DemonsA Poem by Master K-tops![]() Voices that keep telling me that I'll never be good enough.![]()
I sway forth and back
in a swift drunken swirl, Heart outweighs a rock in a daggered chest, Inebriated and staggering The sun now a shiny gloom, The mirror, now unsightly, seems to mock me but my eyes must stay dry. Though I try to stay in tune, I hear Music from beyond, otherworldly, yet not so unearthly, it is strange yet so familiar, It lies in my spinning head, A paroxysm of despair hits like rash in an African summer, Music of famished demons plays and these minstrels tire not. I lose the battle I never fought, Give me the cure, on grains, will I spend it, For I want, but won't have, I will, but cannot win Shadows of a torn future reflect and the ramblings in my head eclipse the joy that once was, as sanity drips from my sealed cup. I strive for perseverance, but what use is a thick skin when your bones itch and your blood burns? 'This is not just your imagination' the mirror swears, Waste not a second saving me, but leave me with the Music, Just give me a moment's peace and let me drown it with silence. © 2014 Master K-topsAuthor's Note
