Words of WonderA Poem by EstelleWords light a candle on the darkest of nightsWords, oh wonder of the worlds, words In curly script, or dark bold print Words can break a heart Words can mend a soul From the coldest of hearts They wring tears of sorrow A tongue, a mouthful of words Can give a lashing Worse than a poison-tipped whip But most of all Words give me courage When I have none They fill the halls With bubbles of laughter And shouts of joy Words light a candle On the darkest of nights With words, I no longer have to be A sad, solitary, soul With words I can become A phoenix Soaring through the air A blundering banderbear Bumbling through the bog Or a mischievous pixie Causing mayhem in my wake Words can transport me to An undersea utopia Or a kingdom full of elves But most of all With words I no longer have to be Alone
