Inertia

Inertia

A Poem by Onyx Sky

Inertia

There is a pulse that beats within me

So remarkably fast it sounds like a hum

And it is this pulse that drives me to do

The forbidden

But as long as this hum persists

Why should my body resist

The temptation to be raw, and natural

Perpetually

Not just when you are a baby

As I cultivate my life according to a set of rules

These rules begets limitations and boundaries

That I do not permit myself to cross

Until I dream

Perhaps this means

I’m more truthful

When I’m asleep?

Laws are for the weak

Unable to take that leap

Into the immeasurable vacancy

Does this make me deep?

Caught between heaven and hell

My earth, my life,

VOID
