So Ready

So Ready

A Poem by Onyx Sky

Getting tired of Being Lonely

Ready to taste feelings of love again

Let it linger on my tongue

Marinate in my mouth

Drink it all in

Letting some drip of my chin

Just to have you lick it off

Getting tired of being lonely

Ready to surrender to true love

THe kind where you know theres potential

Potential to break every bone in your body

Lose all your limbs

Go deaf for goodness sake

And still be able to look at you

With certainty and say

I trust you to catch me

Getting tired of being lonely

Ready to fall and keep falling

Off the highest mountain

Hell! Out of the sky

And know that through it all

After years and years of falling

That you decided to wait

All those centuries

To catch me.

The is poingant and sentimental and so, so longing. I like the tantalizing imagery in the beginning juxtaposed with the more pleading edge that enters the poem closer to the end. It's a poem that waits and doesn't give itself away automatically, which is good and intrigues the reader to keep reading, to hold on to what happens closer to the end. You play your strengths well in this. Well done.
