Your Gravity

Your Gravity

A Poem by Kennedy
"

Falling in love.

"

Something about you digs under my skin
I can feel gravity pulling on my heart
I’ve always loved the fall.
I’ve always thought I needed a parachute
So I don’t fall too hard
But when I think about you
I feel like you are my parachute
Keeping me lifted, slowly taking me down
Making me feel secure
During the heart-throbbing fall.
I don’t belong in the clouds anymore
I belong down there with you
So as I come crashing down
I look up to see you holding me
And look down to see you waiting
With your arms spread wide to catch me.
You’re my favorite kind of gravity.
I can’t help falling for you…

Oh I think you do know. You made a beautiful metaphor for describing that moment when you decide to trust your heart to someone else. There is a reason it is called "falling" in love- if you pay attention, that's exactly what it feels like. I like the thought of someone providing you a parachute- usually it's a free fall with no sense of what's waiting for you at the bottom.

I thought this was very nicely written and well done.

I think you know what it means love ;)!

This was nice. I could feel the lifting and falling of a sky diver as I read.
